Dreams and Thoughts

My name is Michael Pender, known as Mikey to my friends. I’m 19 years old. I was born and raised in a rural town called Castledermot in Ireland, where I went to school and played native sports such as football and hurling. Although I enjoyed these sports, horses were always my main focus, which was influenced by my family who have always been involved in the industry.

After a successful pony career, I went to work with Marion and Miguel of HHS and have been there since. Over the past three years I have gained invaluable experience on the national and international circuit, as well as getting an insight into the sales side of the operation. I’m thoroughly looking forward to what the future holds for my showjumping career, and I believe the opportunity the YRA has given me will enable me to maximize my future success.
