Dreams and Thoughts

I am a 23 year old South African Showjumper with a great passion for the equestrian sport. I was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. However, I moved to Germany at the age of 18 to pursue my dream of becoming a professional showjumper. I have been following A Young Riders Academy since I came to Germany and it has been one of my dreams to be a part of this unbelievable programme.

I spent my first 3 months in Germany with the former German international rider, Hans-Jörn Ottens, at his yard in Bremerhaven. You can appreciate that the adjustment to my new life was initially very difficult – but I literally and figuratively weathered the storms. I am now, since April 2015, based at Tunierstall Hilmar Meyer in Thedinghausen.

My biggest dream is to compete in Aachen and at the Olympic Games, but for now, I’m striving to end in the top 3 of the Bemer Riders Tour for 2019/2020.

My major achievements are competing at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games, winning the 1.55m Grand Prix in Elmlohe in 2017, jumping double clear in the Nations Cup in Drammen, Norway in 2018 and coming 2nd in the 1.60m CSI*** Grand Prix of Redefin in 2019.

I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to be an ambassador for the Young Riders Academy and I can’t wait to represent the Academy to the best of my ability!
