Hi, my name is Jack Whitaker, I’m 19 years old and I live in Nottingham, Great Britain. Although I’ve been riding for the majority of my life, when I was in school, I took part in most sporting activities, predominantly football and rugby, but with showjumping being more of a lifestyle than many other sports, I realised my passion was there and I had to put as a much time and effort into it as possible. I’ve always been around horses and I really enjoy watching them grow and develop, where I’m based at home, we have nice farm and a small breeding program also, so I get to see how different horses develop and hopefully one day be able to compete one or two of our home breeds to a high level. My primary goals are to get the Olympics and other championships and to be in a chance of winning them! But also to sustain a long career at the the top of the sport, competing at the best shows and riding against the best riders. I am massively grateful for the young riders academy giving me this opportunity, I hope to take advantage of all the learning and opportunities they give me, to use them to help me reach my goals.
