I’m a 20 year old showjumper from Great Britain. My family have always been involved in the industry so I can’t even remember the first time I sat on a horse! Although I enjoyed many successes in ponies winning team gold and individual silver at the 2015 Europeans it wasn’t until more recently that I decided to pursue showjumping as a career. I’ve always loved the sport but following a gap year from studies I decided to focus on riding full-time; I realised this is all I want to do! Although it can prove tough at times the good days make all the hard work worthwhile. To be a top showjumper talent is simply not enough. You have to be patient, hard-working, determined, well-informed, compassionate and open-minded to the way the sport is evolving. I feel extremely fortunate that the Young Rider’s Academy is giving me the opportunity to work on myself not only as an athlete, but also as an individual in these ways. I’m looking forward to the future as part of the family.
