Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final: Richard Vogel on the podium in Geneva

A defining moment at CHI Genève

The Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final once again delivered one of the most intense and prestigious moments of the indoor season at CHI Genève. In a packed arena, the ten best riders in the world faced a highly technical competition where consistency, precision and mental strength were decisive.

At the end of the Final, Richard Vogel claimed an impressive third place, stepping onto the podium of one of the most iconic events in international showjumping.

From the Academy to the Top 10 Final

Vogel’s result carries a special meaning for the Young Riders Academy. As a former YRA rider, his presence among the world’s elite reflects the Academy’s long term vision: identifying promising talents, supporting them through education and mentorship, and accompanying them on a structured path toward the highest level of the sport.

Seeing a YRA graduate competing in the Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final is a concrete illustration of how education and performance evolve together.

Richard Vogel on the role of the Young Riders Academy

Speaking during the post competition press conference, Vogel highlighted the importance of the Academy in his development:

“Yeah, the Young Riders Academy is an amazing opportunity for all up-and-coming talents. We get education on all parts, business and sport, with veterinarians, with course designers. We kind of get educated in, you know, all single sides of it, which helps especially the young people a lot. In my case, they were great supporters and, you know, really gave me a hand whenever I need it. And it's, it's obviously very nice to have, you know, have someone, an organization behind you that you know you can call and ask for help whenever you need. It gives you great confidence and helps you coming along.”

His words reflect the Academy’s holistic approach, where riders are supported not only in the arena but also in the many professional aspects that define modern showjumping.

A podium shaped by long term commitment

Vogel’s third place was part of a broader picture. The entire Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final podium featured riders supported by Rolex, underlining the importance of long term commitment, continuity and trust in the development of elite athletes.

Eleonora Ottaviani on vision and responsibility

Reflecting on the significance of the evening, Eleonora Ottaviani, President of the Young Riders Academy, underlined the Academy’s mission:

“Our objective is to combine top sport with the responsibility of guiding young riders toward the highest level. Seeing riders like Richard, Harry Charles, Thibeau Spits and others reach this stage confirms the strength of our vision. Thank you to Rolex for believing in this mission, and to the Geneva organising committee for trusting and supporting our project over the years.”

A milestone for the Young Riders Academy

Richard Vogel’s podium finish at the Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final represents more than a sporting result. It confirms the Young Riders Academy vision: building future champions through education, support and long term perspective. Geneva once again proved that when talent is guided with knowledge and responsibility, the pathway to the top becomes sustainable and real.
