The pandemic has already imposed massive damage on our industry. The stop of competitions and all events, with the consequent disruption of existing contracts with the various partners, has and will determine an important change of scenario for equestrian sport. Consequently, the picture for young riders is also moving and the profession will probably undergo a deep transformation.
It is crucial for young people not to get discouraged. They need to save their energies well by taking advantage of this moment of calm to develop other knowledges. It will be vital to learn, to study and to work horses patiently to be ready when the time comes to restart.
Riders who are part of the YRA project have the opportunity to discover and ascertain a lot in different areas, it is a great chance not to be wasted.
We all need to lower the pace, to slow down, to abandon this infernal race that had become the routine for our sport.
In general, we need to review the concept of equestrian sport in their complexity. It is time to review our professional project and design a new sport and business model…and work accordingly!
