YRA at Chi Geneva 2021

The world’s elite competitors just gathered at the Palexpo arena for the Geneva International Horse Show; an event, steeped in history which celebrated its 60th edition.

Alongside this 5* show, we did run an YRA Team20’ educational session with some key lectures on sport management and veterinary.

Six YRA riders from different years were also riding at the event producing brilliant performances. Harry scored a great win in the 160 combination class; Jack - Ryan - and Sophie finished among tops in the U25 classes. Elin and Jack - Whitaker – performed two remarkable rounds, in the demanding Rolex Grand Prix set by world-renowned course designers Gérard Lachat and Louis Konickx, with just one fence down towards the end.

Jean Maurice Bonneau, YRA Chef d’Equipe, commented: “all our young riders showed good technical mastery, determination, combativeness, coolness, and rode without complexity.

We can regret mistakes on the last obstacle which are very expensive, and which must be analysed technically but also mentally in order to know how to avoid them in the future”.
